Social investment
at Valcare

Social investment fosters positive societal change and addresses pressing social challenges. It plays a vital role in creating inclusive and sustainable communities, promoting social justice, and improving the well-being of individuals and marginalised groups.

In South Africa, needs are increasing faster than our social services and infrastructure can accommodate, and resources are minimal. Social investment addresses the gaps traditional public and private sectors left in addressing social issues. Valcare focuses on finding innovative solutions to social problems and supports organisations that work towards social transformation.

Why social impact measurement
This year, we served four local municipalities in the Western Cape.
Stellenbosch
Witzenberg
Drakenstein
Breede Valley

Social impact measurement means assessing and understanding the effects of social initiatives on individuals and communities. It helps us know whether these initiatives make a positive difference and meet their intended goals. By measuring social impact, organisations can make informed decisions, improve their programmes, and demonstrate accountability to stakeholders.

For Valcare, measuring social impact goes beyond monitoring and evaluation. We want to know what outcomes were achieved and how to manage these outcomes. We ensure our monitoring and evaluation efforts provide valuable insights into our partners’ programming and interventions, which can help measure the interventions’ effectiveness and efficiency.

Social impact measurement helps ensure that resources are utilised effectively, that meaningful change is achieved, and that we continuously learn and improve our practices.
